Architectural Design

There are several phases in architectural design:

Pre-Design is the process of researching and analyzing a potential building project before the design phase. It is often carried out by a property owner or an architect, and may include zoning analysis, land surveys, site analysis and other activities to help developers decide if they should purchase a property.
Duration: usually 4-6 weeks

Schematic Design is the first phase of design in the architectural process. It involves the architect and client discussing the project and any requirements, as well as the architect doing research and analysis of the property. Programming is also part of this phase, where the client provides a list of spaces and the architect establishes the size, location, and relationships between them.

The goal of this phase is to develop the shape and size of the building with some basic design, and it involves sketching, meetings with the clients, and basic design. Besides architectural drawings, in this phase we are provide 3D visualization, 3D animation and presentation. Once the basic design is locked down, the architect and owner will agree to proceed to the next phase of design.
Duration 4-8 weeks

Design Development phase of a project, which involves advancing the design based on the approved floor plan and exterior concept. During this phase, the priority is to define and develop all the important aspects of the project and produce a set of drawings and outline specification for preliminary cost estimating. Additionally, the interior and exterior materials and functionality will be discussed, the layout of the indoor and outdoor spaces will be refined, and the window and door placements and building form will be adjusted.

By the end of the Design Development phase, the building exterior will be more fully designed, the interior layout completed, dimensions of all spaces finalized, and most materials selected. A structural engineer and other consultants may also be added to the team. The deliverable will be a more detailed set of drawings.
Duration: 8-12 weeks
