Tropical House, Senegal

Architectural design for the tropical house, located on the Atlantic coast in Senegal, south of Dakar.

Our design approach was inspired by traditional African architecture, with a specific focus on the use of a thatched roof made of straws. This simple element provides a visual connection to the local cultural heritage.

A key feature of the house is the unique inner pool, which is integrated into the living area through the use of sliding glass doors. The small bridge over the pool connects the living room with the outdoor dining. The pool provides an immersive outdoor experience and is created using two sunken containers that have been integrated into the landscape.
