Hyde Park Villain Garage

This is one of the most exciting designs for 2022. We found it very interesting to design a garage with a villain vibe. The primary reason for going in this direction was the planning requirement; the garage needed to be underground as the home is considered historical, situated in the Hyde Park-Kenwood Historic District in Chicago, USA. Moreover, within the same neighborhood is Frank Lloyd Wright's Robie House, one of the most renowned architectural masterpieces of the 20th century.

The exterior design is simple and modern, while the interior design is more aggressive, with a less polished and more raw look. The floor is polished concrete, and the ceiling is given its natural finish. The hollow-core slabs are left visible without any finishes. The garage will be constructed using @superiorwalls precast concrete products, and cabinets will be fashioned from metal sheets. An architectural highlight of the entire interior design is a skylight, and of materials, the highlight are zinc sheets. Mirrors between the walls and the ceiling were used to lighten the heavy concrete.

Regarding lighting design, we choose LED lighting to highlight the skylight and horizontal LEDs below the mirrors.

And last but not least is a lounge chair with a coffee table and a whiskey, a perfect spot for the villain to think about his next move.
