Concept Design for the Wellness Retreat in Victoria, Australia
The retreat will be built on the former site of the decommissioned Anglesea Power Station and mine in Victoria, Australia. In addition to the coal mine, where a lake will be created as part of the site's transformation, the existing power plant building will be repurposed into unique accommodation. The steel structure of the power plant will be preserved, with accommodation units in the form of modern cubes added within its frame, complemented by a half-elliptical rooftop pool.
The iconic chimney will be creatively reimagined as a viewing platform, accessible by spiral stairs, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Spanning across expansive grounds, this retreat will feature a wide range of amenities, blending nature with modern comfort. Guests will enjoy luxurious accommodations, wellness facilities, walking trails, and lakeside activities, all while being immersed in the historical and industrial heritage of the site. The project aims to create a unique retreat experience that harmoniously merges sustainability, history, and natural beauty.
